Zoso Concert

If you are like me, you may look at this post title and wonder: who the hell is Zoso??

I had the same question about a week ago when some of our friends asked if we wanted to go to the Zoso concert with them last weekend. For anyone else who has no clue who they are, Zoso is a Led Zeppelin cover band, formed in 1995, and they tour all over the US. Bo and I really don't go to a lot of concerts, but we like Led Zeppelin and for $16 tickets, we figured why not. So last Saturday night we all headed down to Little Five Points - a somewhat alternative area of Atlanta that we've only been to a few other times.

We had dinner at OMG Taco. One side is a bar and the other is a restaurant. It wasn't too crowded and our food came out really fast, so it was a perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat and a few drinks before the concert. It was sort-of Mexican, with a twist. It was okay - something different, nothing great - we probably won't be going back.

The concert was just down the street at the Variety Playhouse. It was a pretty cool setup inside. Since tickets are general admission, they had stadium-seating with open standing room right in front of the stage. We got there about 10 minutes before the show started and were able to walk right up to center stage, just far back enough from the stage that we didn't have our eardrums destroyed. We were some of the youngest people there (by far) and it was awesome to see all these older people with long hair, wearing crazy outfits, waving their lighters, and smoking something. We all thought the band was pretty good, except for Bo... he didn't really like the lead singer. Maybe the rest of us are too easily entertained, but Bo is also rather particular about everything.  :)  Regardless, it was a fun night out with the boys.
