Habitat for Humanity

A few weekends ago, our friend Casey organized a group of us to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. I've done a few habitat projects through work before, but Bo never had and he was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately for him and the rest of the guys in our group, this particular house was close to being finished so there wasn't much manual labor left. Meaning that we mostly worked on finishing touches - painting, etc. Bo really wanted to get up on the roof or at least do something with a little more impact (aka "manly")... so he was somewhat disappointed. I, however, was very excited about it since it was freezing the day we volunteered and most of our work was done inside the house.

We all decided to volunteer a few times this coming year - though hopefully on Day 1 or 2 of the build for a new home, when there is more manual labor for the guys, and also when it is a little warmer! All in all, it was a really fun day and a great way to help out a family around the holidays. For those of you in Atlanta, if you want to join us next time, just let me know.
