Molly's 1st Birthday

St. Patrick's Day also happens to be Molly's birthday! So of course we celebrated, which I realize is completely ridiculous but it was extremely entertaining.

I made her a birthday cake using Kristin's recipe - we thought it looked disgusting, but Molly loved it! So instead of her normal breakfast and dinner, we let her eat cake all day. Pretty good birthday if you ask me.

"Really?! All for me??"

"I will keep eating until you take it away from me"

I also made her a birthday hat, but that didn't go over so well with her.

And what is a birthday without the presents? She needed some new toys anyway since she's destroyed so many of them. Knock on wood, they are all still alive and well.

patiently waiting for me to give them to her

Kristin also recommended these elk antlers, and they are amazing. They are pricey compared to the rawhides we usually give her, but so far I feel they are definitely worth it (especially because I got them on sale!). They last a lot longer - she's barely made a dent in them after two weeks of non-stop chewing. And they aren't disgusting like rawhides are after they've been chewed on. They have been a major hit for all of us.

Happy Birthday, Molly!! May you have many more.

  1. I'll have to look for those antlers. Our poodle has such fluffy ears that we can't give her rawhides or they become one with the fluff.

    Happy Birthday Molly!

  2. It's not silly at all to celebrate your pets birthdays :) We do it too. Last year I even (somehow) got both pets (cat and dog) into birthday hats and got a picture. It's so fun to have another reason to celebrate :)
